it’s a niyama (moral code) in yogi philosophy.

Contentment is it’s meaning.  Happiness.
I swear I’ve eaten at a restaurant or shopped at a boutique with this name and never knew the meaning.  How uncurious I was.

Just to confirm my little theory the other morning of sadness as habit…I just happened upon a synchronous theory in my yogi reading for this week’s lesson at yoga teacher training.
The reading phrases Santosha as “the habit of contentment”.  the ability to be at peace no matter what’s going on around you, being able to float up above the situation and act (instead of react) with peaceful control.  Amazing.  good stuff.  think i’ll work on this one…
Sadness as habit.
Happiness as Habit.
Which habit sounds better today?
